Automatic Looting
Kill something, and the loot is in your backpack before you have taken a
step. The server empties the corpse for you, using exactly the loot list
the quick-loot button already uses — so the setting up happens in the
client, and the switching on happens in one command.
1. Switch it on
Type this in the game, in any chat channel:
| !autoloot on |
Loot every kill from now on, except bosses. |
| !autoloot all |
The same, and bosses as well. |
| !autoloot off |
Stop. Corpses go back to being opened by hand. |
The server answers each one in the game window, so you always know which
of the three you are on. The setting belongs to the character,
not the account, and it is remembered — set it once and it survives
logging out, dying and the next server save.
2. Tell it where to put things
The command on its own picks up nothing. What is taken, and what it is
put into, is the client's loot manager — the same one the quick-loot
button uses. If you have never set it up, do this first.
-
Open a backpack, right-click it and choose the loot-container entry
(Manage Loot Containers in the current client). The
loot manager opens.
-
Give loot somewhere to go. Assign one bag to take everything, or a
bag per category if you like your gold, your gems and your creature
products arriving in different places. No container assigned
means nothing is picked up, however the command is set.
-
Decide what it takes. The list works one of two ways: as a
skip list, where everything is taken except what you
put on it, or as an accept list, where only what you
put on it is taken. An empty skip list means "take the lot", which is
what most people want to start with.
-
Close the window. Nothing needs saving, and nothing needs repeating
after a logout.
Everything here is the client's own, so it applies to quick-looting by
hand too. Automatic looting only saves you the button.
What it will not do
-
Loot a body you cannot reach. The server checks it can
walk to the corpse before it empties it. Something killed across a
chasm, behind a wall, on the far side of a fire field or from the
other end of a distance shot stays a corpse — go and stand next
to it.
-
Loot somebody else's kill. It goes to whoever dealt
the most damage, which is the same rule the corpse itself follows.
-
Open reward bosses for you. Reward corpses are never
looted automatically, on any setting. That chest is yours to open, and
the reward is claimed the usual way.
-
Make room. Anything that will not fit — full
bag, no capacity — is left in the corpse rather than dropped, so
a hunt with a full backpack quietly stops collecting.
-
Change what drops. The loot rate is
x3 on Webwarriors whether you use this or not. It saves clicks, not gold.
If nothing happens
| The command does nothing at all |
Automatic looting is switched off server-side. Nothing you can
type will turn it on — ask on support.
|
| “You need to be VIP to use this command” |
It is on, but reserved for VIP characters on this world. |
| “Invalid param specified” |
It wants a space and one of the three words:
!autoloot on works,
!autolooton run together does not.
|
| It confirms, but corpses stay full |
The loot manager is not set up: no container assigned, or an
accept list with nothing on it. Step 2 above.
|
| It works, except on bosses |
That is !autoloot on doing its job.
Switch to !autoloot all to include them.
